Tell us a bit about yourself.
Born and raised in Amsterdam, the greatest country in The Netherlands! I grew up with the greatest brother of all time, you might have heard of him…
When I was young I spent most of the time playing football outside. Well actually, I was told by my brother and cousin that I was a great goalkeeper and should be in the goal, just so they would have someone to shoot the balls at. But aside from that, it was an awesome time.
When did you start working at Yieldr?
I started at Yieldr in July 2015.
What was your path to your current role at Yieldr?
My first job was as a shoe salesman (Al Bundy was a great inspiration). After doing that for 8 years I started working at an administration office, which did the administration for a bunch of school boards.
At a certain moment in the car with Tim, he mentioned they needed some help at Yieldr. I mentioned I was available and he should ask if they were interested in an annoying little brother.
This is when I had an interview with a very tired Omar (it was Ramadan at the time) and the next thing I knew, I was part of the Yieldr family.
What do you work on at Yieldr?
I’m in the Finance Department but next to that I’m also known as the Janitor, IT specialist, Office Manager, HR, Legal, Bolle and most importantly, Chief Leftovers.
What do you love most about working at Yieldr?
The people at Yieldr. The working environment is great to work in and gives you the joy to go to work every day.
What’s something about you that would surprise your colleagues?
I used to be able to do some gymnastics, backflips and such.
What’s your favorite Yieldr value and why?
Be Humble. I think you should always be humble about what you have and try to help others whenever you can.
What do you love to do when you’re not in the office?
Spend time with my little princess. When I’m not with her I like to watch Ajax at Leidseplein with my friends.
If a genie appeared and gave you one wish, what would it be?
I would wish for more genies, the genie will be like whaaaaat!?
What’s the funniest or weirdest thing that’s happened to you on a flight?
It’s was my first (and only) transatlantic flight and I was really looking forward to having a nice screen in front of me to watch my own movie. Instead of that, I was on the one plane without these screens and I ended up in a seat next to a baby. Yay!
Where would you go if you got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world and why?
The Maldives. Since I started dating my girlfriend she wants to go there, better make good use of it :D
